Media Education and Journalism

The Educational Resource Center, in collaboration with its partners, IA Variants, supports initiatives in the fields of media education and journalism in the following areas:

• Standards and methodology of journalistic work
• Civic journalism
• Digital journalism (including mobile journalism and drone journalism)
• Building and maintaining sustainable journalistic editorial teams
• Media education for communities
• Security of digital communications

Within this area, media communication specialists conduct training sessions, internships, and provide individual consultations. We also support the organization of conferences, summer camps, and other media initiatives.

We are interested in developing regional journalism projects, investigative journalism, and the creation of active ecosystems for local blogging and civic journalism.

Some of our projects include:

• Training journalists from among students of Lviv universities to work in communities (2022)
• Mapping drone shoots in Lviv (2014-2016)
• Media training for NGOs in Lviv region (2017)
• Internship for bloggers and representatives of environmental NGOs in Western Ukraine (2015)
